Construction payment in Qatar

Qatari projects typically use FIDIC-based conditions, often with Particular Conditions that adjust the certification and payment periods. Payment runs through the Engineer's Interim Payment Certificate, counted in calendar days. Qatar has no security of payment statute, so the 28-day certification and 56-day payment periods come from the contract and not from Qatari law. Always read the Particular Conditions, because they routinely change the FIDIC default periods.
